Hi I'm Kate Polglaze. I’ve been a renter here in Darebin for over a decade, I understand firsthand the challenges many of us face, from rising living costs to the mental health crisis. 

 

My extensive experience in the mental health system has shown me the profound impact these issues have on our community.

 

As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have dedicated myself to creating training and educational events for healthcare workers, advocating for a kinder, safer, and more inclusive world for all.

 

In my spare time, I am an avid cyclist and a strong proponent of better bike and public infrastructure to ensure our communities are accessible and sustainable.

 

I am deeply committed to securing additional resources for housing, social, and wellbeing services, especially for those disproportionately affected by violence and discrimination.

 

While the challenges ahead are significant, I am ready to bring my lived experience to the forefront of decision-making, striving to make a positive impact on people's lives, regardless of their background or postcode.
