Councillor Emily Dimitriadis for
South East Ward

Hi I'm Emily. I’m a human rights lawyer and pharmacist, as well as your councillor for the South East Ward. I have consistently championed justice, fairness, and equity in all my endeavours.

During my tenure over the past four years, I have worked tirelessly to bring these values to life, focusing on enhancing community health and safety.

I have passionately supported increased participation of women and girls in sports and have been a dedicated listener to the concerns of our elderly and vulnerable community members, ensuring their voices are always heard.

Throughout my term, I have consistently fought for greater focus on public health and safety, the participation of women and girls in sport, and listened to the concerns of the elderly and other vulnerable people. I demonstrated this when I:

  • Made Darebin facilities and amenities accessible for all residents

  • Campaigned to keep publicly owned childcare and kinder in public hands

  • Supported our ageing and ethnic communities by stopping cuts to public services

  • Introduced the Nappy Collective to Darebin, supporting less well off families

  • Funded the Fairfield Village cultural festival

  • And much more!

Local voices deserve to have a seat at the table. With your support, we can continue this by:

  • Funding sporting clubs to keep them strong

  • Tackling the climate emergency

  • Making childcare accessible and affordable for young working families

  • Supporting investments in renewables

  • Supporting local businesses
